me in an elevator

For years I’ve been taking photographs in elevators. Made across 4 different continents, hundreds of these exist for no real reason. If I said they were all taken within a 30 min walk from my apartment I think I’d nearly believe myself.

After a few drinks one night I was telling a friend about these photos of me in an elevator with everyone and anyone and noone and we had a good laugh. Then he said “it kinda makes sense for you though, you’re not at home anymore and you’re not yet where you’re meant to be...you’re somewhere in between”.

At the time it seemed like the most profound thing I’d ever heard. Sounds a bit stupid reading it now but I guess there’s some truth in it.
