Photography is a medium that permeates our everyday lives like almost no other – as a means of communication, a carrier of memories, a document and piece of evidence, for self-affirmation, as a research subject, a note-taking tool, and, of course, as a work of art. Images are captured, fill our hard drives, light up on various screens, and become lodged in our minds. The equipment – the smartphone, the camera, the storage device, or even the Wi-Fi transmission – usually operates in the background, and we remain unaware of the processes involved in image production. We are surrounded by a multifaceted array of images that shape our perception and experience to such an extent that the complexities of everyday life sometimes seem easier, but also all the more impenetrable.
The AFF Gallery continues its exhibition format ›Keep Your Eyes Peeled‹ to respond to developments and trends in contemporary photography. A curated selection of images is presented temporarily in a short exhibition sequence at a shared physical location (the gallery).
