In October 2025 I went to Cairo for a friends wedding. While there, I made some field recordings and after returning to Berlin, made the song Cairo (all the birds). It includes two of those field recordings, one from a street in Zamalek of what felt like thousands of birds above my head, and one of the evening call to prayer which can be heard every day all around the city.
The music in the piece mainly consists of playing some keyboards through different guitar pedals.
After completing the song, it has since been featured on two compilations:
- Disappearing Sounds, a compilation from Berlin-based label winter echoes to help raise funds for The Sameer Project
- Start the Track: Vol. IX, a compilation from Bratislava-based label Start-track
